It was the first day of a school in USA and a new Indian student named Chandrasekhar Subramanian entered the fourth grade.

 

美國某學校開課那天， 有一名印度新生 差德拉錫卡．蘇巴拉馬寧進入四年級的課室。

 

The teacher said, "Let's begin by reviewing some American History. Who said 'Give me Liberty, or give me Death'!" She saw a sea of blank faces, except for Chandrasekhar, who had his hand up "'Patrick Henry, 1775" he said.

 

老師說：「我們首先溫習美國史。"不自由，毋寧死！" 是誰說的？」她看到同學面面相覷，只有差仔舉手。「柏特烈．亨利，1775年。」他答。

 

"Very good! Who said 'Government of the People, by the People, for the People, shall not perish from the Earth?'''  Again, no response except from Chandrasekhar. 'Abraham Lincoln, 1863'  said Chandrasekhar.

 

「答得好！那麼　"民治、民權、民享生永垂不朽" 是誰說的？」  同樣沒有反應，差仔： 「亞伯拉罕．林肯，1863年。」

 

The teacher snapped at the class, 'Class, you should be ashamed.  Chandrasekhar, who is new to our country, knows more about our history than you do.'

 

She heard a loud whisper: 'Fuck the Indians',

 

''Who said that?' she demanded. Chandrasekhar put his hand up. 'General Custer, 1862.'

 

  老師申斥全班同學：「你們應該感到羞愧。差仔雖然是初來步到，但他認識本國歷史比你們還多。」

 

  有人交頭接耳，聲音大得給她聽到了：「操他們印度人！」

 

「誰說的？」她問道。差仔又舉手：「卡斯特將軍，1862年。」

 

 

At that point, a student in the back said, 'I'm gonna puke.'

 

The teacher glares around and asks 'All right! Now, who said that?'

 

Again, Chandrasekhar says, 'George Bush to the Japanese Prime Minister, 1991.'

 

這時一個坐後排的學生說：「我想嘔！」

 

老師眼光一掃：「好吧！今次是誰說的？」

 

再次差仔說：「喬治．布殊向日本首相說的，1991。」

 

Now furious, another student yells, 'Oh yeah? Suck this!'

 

Chandrasekhar jumps out of his chair waving his hand and shouts to the teacher, 'Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997'.

 

到了這裡，另一名學生怒氣沖沖的叫：「真的一樣！食蕉啦你！」

 

差仔跳出他的椅子，一邊揮手一邊大聲向老師說：「克林頓向萊溫斯基說的，1997。」

 

Now with almost mob hysteria someone said 'You little shit. If you say anything else, I'll kill you.'   Chandrasekhar frantically yells at the top of his voice, ' Michael Jackson to the child witnesses testifying against him, 2004.'

 

現在幾乎群情洶湧，又有人說：「你個死仔，如果你再出聲，我就殺了你。」

 

差仔瘋狂地高聲喊叫：「是米高積遜向那名作證指控他的孩子說的，2004年。」

 

The teacher fainted.

And as the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said,  'Oh shit, we're screwed!'  And Chandrasekhar said quietly, 'I think it was Lehmann Brothers,  November 4th, 2008'.

 

老師暈倒了。同學上前圍觀躺在地板上的老師，有人說：「慘啦∼∼我地大鑊喇！」

 

差仔若無其事地說：「我認為這句話應該是雷曼兄弟講的，2008年11月4日。」
